• Script it first (speeds everything up and you have a transcript for accessibility purposes)
• Speaking through an old pair of nylonsover a bent wire coathanger stops popping Ps
• The cheap headset worked fine in a quiet room, but have to angle the mic so that it minimises popping P and sharp intakes of breaths
• Record in short sections and clean up the breaths
• If you want people to pause at any time (e.g. to walk somewhere or do something), introduce a chime or similar, and leave 4 or 5 seconds so that they can fiddle with their MP3 player
• Exporting from Audacity to MP3 format will play in iPod and other MP3 players. Dan mentioned something about MP4A format, for podcasts – but this doesn’t seem to matter
• Do ALL your editing before you create the navigation (i.e. written or recorded information about timings – what happens when in the recordings)
  • Post the navigation along with the recording, because it’s considerate
  • Is it possible to embed this information in the recording?
